If RubyMine fails to show some dialogs, does nothing after executing refactorings or menu actions, doesn't allow to edit files or quits unexpectedly please attach RubyMine's logs files to your bug report or question at forum. RubyMine stores logs (idea.log and idea.log.x) in log directory which is located:

• on Windows
  • WinXP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\.RubyMineXX\system\log
  • Vista: C:\Users\user\.RubyMineXX\system\log
• on Linux
  • ~/.RubyMineXX/system/log
• on Mac
  • ~/Library/Logs/RubyMineXX/ (RubyMine 2.x, RubyMine 3.x)
  • ~/Library/Caches/RubyMineXX/log (RubyMine 1.x - 1.5)

Where RubyMineXX:

• RubyMine31 - for RubyMine 3.1 and 3.1.x EAPs, Betas, RC and Release
• RubyMine30 - for RubyMine 3.0 and 3.0.x
• RubyMine25 - for RubyMine 2.5 EAPs
• RubyMine20 - for RubyMine 2.0
• RubyMine15 - for RubyMine 1.5 EAPs, build > 1300
• RubyMine10 - for RubyMine 1.0, 1.1, 1.1.*

Usually it's enough to attach only latest logs which are saved in idea.log.
