Hello folks,
I am not sure whether this would be the right forum for such kind of requests, but I couldn't find another place where I could post the current problem I am having. If this is the wrong space, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!
Right, I have been an Omea Pro user for several years now and things have been working all right. However, for a number of weeks now I have been using several applications running ADOBE AIR and I am finding out that every now and then if I leave the machine unattended it would eventually make it crash, ADOBE AIR, that is, with a white window with which I cannot interact further at all. So I would power off the machine completely, wait for a few seconds and start up again. Yes, I know, not the best of things to do, but when there is nothing else you can do, it's the last thing to go for.
Either way, just this morning when I powered off my Windows machine running XP SP2 with all of the security fixes I started up Omea Pro and it would try to open up from where it last left it. Normally, been going through this a couple of times, things would go back to normal. Today, they haven't.
When I try to open Omea Pro and after a few seconds of checks I would get the following error message: "Error opening database: BinaryReader has found a chain not valid with a length of -1993100987 characters. Last back up of your database was made at 01/01/1601 0:00:00. Would you like to restore database from backup?"
Obviously, if I say No, Omea Pro would not start but if I say Yes, I would then get another error message: "Restoring database failed: One part of the route access cannot be found: G:/Omea/Backup/MyPal.Backup.zip" (Translating from Spanish). From there onwards Omea Pro would close down and I would no longer be able to access it, nor open it, with the end result that it would not allow me to access my feeds.
Now, I have been using Omea Pro for over 3 years and have got accummulated several thousand entreis that I kept re-using quite often. And now I am finding out that with this error message I cannot longer access that data. So you can imagine how I am running now on panic mode.
Could you folks suggest what I could do in order to try to bring Omea Pro back to life? It would be too bad if I cannot recover the different feeds and wondering if there is anything I can do to fix it. Can you have a look and see what can be done? I would really really appreciate if I could get it sorted out and get access to my feeds again.
If you would need more help or info please do let me know.
Thanks ever so much for the help and looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Luis Suarez
Hi folks,
I know that we may all be far too busy with the holiday break and everything, but the fact that I haven't seen a reply in here for nearly a week is starting to make me wonder whether the forums are monitored or not to help address different issues.
I also contact the Support group via e-mail and I haven't heard anything from that end either, which is also starting to make me think that the support for Omea Pro is probably not there any longer. I hope that this is not the case, for sure. I have been recommending Omea Pro for the last three years I've been using and it would be too bad to see how such a superb app. is no longer under a healthy status.
Can anyone confirm whether these concerns are real, or is it all down to the holiday period and I may be able to get an answer after we are all back? Any thoughts or further help would be very very welcome!
Also, does anyone know how to re-build the index from Omea Pro so that I can try to fix it that way and see if I can bring it back to life? Thanks!
Luis
